1. Saved
This movie is awesome. For those who grew up watching Home Alone, seeing Macaulay Culkin all grown up and with a bad attitude is great. With Mandy Moore as one of the main characters, I know I'll have a difficult time convincing anyone that this movie is actually good, but let me put it this way - I've never come across anyone who's hated it. So what have you got to lose?

2. Black Sheep
A New Zealand horror film (where the word "horror" is used quite loosely). The only one you ever need to see (are there others? I don't know. Probably not). Check out the tagline: "get the flock out of here!". That sets the scene for the movie. But it's good. It's low budget and the acting is sub par. But it's good. Sometimes I'm a little disappointed in New Zealand movies and the way that they incessantly poke fun at themselves and depict New Zealanders as being unintelligent, silly bogans. But sometimes, I think it works well. In movies such as this. I mean, in the movie, they insinuated that a guy was having a relationship with a sheep. They just don't take themselves seriously.

3. The Room
I didn't know what to expect when going to see this movie, I was invited by an old friend, and knowing his movie taste quite well I assumed it would be something awesome. And it was awesome, just not in the usual sense of the word.
Bad Taste is a good New Zealand comedy/"horror"
ReplyDelete^ Pretty much all Peter Jackson films pre-LotR fall into that category.
